Help Unlock Freedom from Trafficking with Ella's This December

Ella’s is one of the incredible charities taking part in the Discount Promo Codes charity poll this Christmas. They are a small, London-based charity doing everything they can to help unlock freedom among women who have survived trafficking, exploitation and other forms of violence. Their support is crucial for some of the UK’s most vulnerable women, helping them recover, stay safe and build stable lives. Find out more below.

What Does Ella's Do? 


The mission of Ella’s is to ensure survivors of trafficking and exploitation have all they need to recover and build lives that are safe and free. To achieve this, Ella’s provides: 

  • Accommodation in the form of safe houses for vulnerable women in need 

  • Support and care to assist in recovery and to help survivors to work through their trauma 

  • long-term community-based support to help survivors build safe, independent lives. 


Around 50 women and 45 children a year currently benefit from the work of Ella’s. 

‘Ella’s helped me be a mum, a wife, a human being. You can only give happiness and support to other people if you have it yourself,’ says Halimot, a survivor of trafficking and exploitation.

 

What Services does Ella's Provide?


The support at Ella’s is not just a ‘nice-to-have’ for women who have survived trafficking and exploitation. It is vital to ensure women’s freedom and safety, and without Ella’s many women are likely to fall back into danger. 

  • A huge 49.6 million people worldwide are currently trapped in modern slavery

  • 79% of the people that are trafficked are children and women

  • The sex trade exploits a massive 6.3 million people around the world


The majority of people that use Ella’s services are women who have survived trafficking, and most of these women have been trafficked into the sex trade or forced into different types of labour. The vast majority of the women who are supported by Ella have experienced various types of violence, abuse and exploitation. 

Every woman Ella’s works with is different and each has their own story to tell, however they all share the impact of the cruelty they have been through. Trafficking, exploitation and the abuse and violence which often comes with it, can have debilitating effects on victims and often causes devastating physical and psychological distress. 

Ella’s supports survivors in their recovery from these traumatic experiences, and helps them to build a brighter future where their past doesn’t haunt their future. Ella’s proves support which is often not available in the current UK support system, offering accommodation, advice and care to survivors in need.
