What Does The Gatehouse Do?

The Gatehouse runs a drop-in community centre in Central Oxford, and has been supporting local homeless and vulnerably housed adults since 1991. In recent years support has extended to individuals on low or no income or suffering from food or fuel poverty. All services are provided free of charge, with an open door policy providing a safety net for all.

Clients of the Gatehouse are amongst the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society. The Gatehouse aims to reduce and overcome barriers and inequalities in food, finance, social isolation, housing, health, education, employment and well-being for these marginalised individuals.

What Services does the Gatehouse Provide?

In addition to offering a drop-in community café, clothes store, shower services, workshops and group activities, the Gatehouse also provides bespoke, individual Casework and Counsellor support, and runs a Lived Experience Advisory Forum. Many of these services have been introduced over recent

years to meet needs identified by users of the Gatehouse. Additional services being introduced this year include a number of Outreach Hubs to reach additional beneficiary groups.
