They offer person centred support which ranges from a few hours of support per week for those individuals who live more independently to 24 hour care for those with complex learning disabilities, health or physical disabilities. They are ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator for adult health and social care services, and they are dedicated to giving the support and independence every individual deserves. The charity runs run three community hubs in Wallingford, Didcot and Banbury so that people with learning disabilities can get the best out of their local communities. There are various sessions available at Wantage Market Garden through their Gardening Project, where they teach a range of gardening skills that benefit physical and mental health.

How To Get Involved

If you are ready to support this incredible cause, they would love to have you.

They have a range of volunteering positions available including Day opportunities where you would be helping out at their day hub via activities such as arts and crafts for those in need.

Their Buddy/Work Placement programme involves bringing those with learning disabilities together with volunteers so they can connect and boost each others’ mental health whilst motivating each other.

You can also become a gardening volunteer, where you are able to use your skills at their garden project to help develop the skills of those in need, or alternatively, you can be part of the maintenance team who can support by sharing their knowledge about plants, wildlife, nature and more.

With a range of other volunteering opportunities available including becoming a tearoom volunteer, an events volunteer or a Ways to Wellness volunteer, you could help these individuals gain more independence with a number of rewarding roles depending on your interest.
