What Do Embrace Do?

Embrace provides support for children, young people and their families who have been harmed by crime. Being the victim or witness of a crime or loosing a loved one can have a great impact on children and young people as well as their families, causing physical, financial, social, emotional and psychological distress and hardship. Embrace helps the young person and their family to recover from their experiences through in person and online services which offer emotional and practical help.

Their support services are wide ranging and offered through face to face sessions, online and over the phone. They are available to any child, young person and family who has been affected by crime. Although they support families who have been affected by all types of crime, some of the most commonly seen crimes include domestic violence, exploitation, sexual abuse, the death of a family member through crime, violence and other serious crimes.

They provide individualistic support to each child and family, working with them to ensure that they get the practical and emotional support they need to help them recover from their experiences.

What Services do Embrace Provide?

Some of their support services include:

● Emotional and psychological help via face-to-face counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy

● Practical help via Alfie’s Hardship Fund which provides help funding items such as clothing, food, technology and other items

● Social and emotional support via short breaks and theme park trips

● Online support via email, webchat and social media
