Vote for SPEAR London to Help People Get from Homelessness to Independence

This March, we have the incredible SPEAR London participating in our charity poll! They need your votes this month to help more people in South West London experiencing homelessness. Their services help people beyond just finding accommodation, with the aim of assisting people in becoming truly independent. Who Are SPEAR London?


SPEAR London provides support to people in South West London who are currently experiencing homelessness. They use a holistic method of working, helping every one of their service users to ultimately live a life where they can support themselves and achieve their dreams. This can include finding suitable accommodation, helping them improve their health and wellbeing, carrying out community development projects and more. 

SPEAR London help people experiencing homelessness to thrive through a range of services including:

Rough Sleeper Outreach: SPEAR London carries out day and night shifts which allows them to interact directly with rough sleepers in Richmond, Wandsworth and Kingston. They offer support in finding housing, directing them to other support services and provide help in other areas of life if needed.

Accommodation: SPEAR London helps people find suitable accommodation for them, whether it is in a private house or flat, supported living facility or in one of their multiple occupancy homes, houses and hostels. 

Resettlement and Tenancy Support: SPEAR London also supports people who are already living in temporary or permanent accommodation, but are in need of support to find permanent housing, understand tenancy agreements or live more independently. 

Health Link: This service helps people who are homeless and are experiencing mental or physical health issues to access the support they need. This could include accessing local healthcare services, receiving a diagnosis or understanding treatment.

 

Community Development Projects



  • Employment, Training and Education Support which helps people build key skills such as IT and literacy, as well as key workers who have clients in need of education and training. 

  • The Springboard Project which helps young people who are between the ages of 16-25 and need a boost in their confidence, wellness and independent living skills. 

  • Peer Mentoring which links up clients to people who have also experienced homelessness so provide support and feedback.
